1987 911 power lock issue??
Gentlemen,
My 1987 911 coupe has developed a weird issue recently, when I try to lock it with the key from the drivers door it unlocks itself electrically just as fast!! It acts like modern vehicles that if you have the ignition key in the switch and attempt to lock the vehicle either by pushing the lock button on the door panel or the lock button on the fob it will pop right back unlocked. Do Porsche's this old have this feature if so maybe my ignition switch is bad, maybe just a plain old short? This has me scrathin my head?? Any help or guidance is greatly appreciated. Jim |

Check the lock linkage rods in the door. One of mine came loose and caused the problem you describe.

Or look and see if the passenger side door lock is stuck locked or unlocked. That will display the same symptoms.
