Can't find the Raven: tapping
Although there's a tapping at my chamber door, it ain't the valves which are all in fine spec. It sounds like ONE valve...and it's also coming from the front of the engine meaning, the part that's more inside...like behind the air flow meter...anyone? It started after putting injectors in, but it isn't the injectors, I've moved them around and the sound didn't move with em...
shall I break out the old tape recorder? ------------------ Kurt B 1984 Carrera Cabriolet 911 Page carrera_cabriolet@yahoo.com |
A regular tapping or ticking noise is a valve train thing of some kind. Using a very long screwdriver or dowel, you can listen to various placed on the cylinder head and manifolds, both intake and exhaust. The other end goes AGAINST your ear. In this way you may be able to isolate the particular valve. At that point I would check that valve's adjustment one more time.
