Can't remove fan belt pulley

I have a 74 and the fan belt pulley half does not have the hole for the pulley tool to grip onto. Looking at pictures of the pulley half in Wayne's book, it is much different from mine. Mine is nearly flat, and does not have the lip with the hole in it. How can i remove the pulley half without bracing the fan or something stupid like that?

Now with pics! You can see how loose my fan belt is, but i just cant get the nut off without bracing the shaft from spinning somehow

that is a early 911 pulley, you need the pulley wrench with the 2 prongs that fit in the pulley holes. The fan should have matching holes. Wrench shown in photo of my method of pulling fan off shaft.
