How to Grease ER Bearings

I've almost got one rear reassembled with Elephant Racing polybronze bearings and am trying to to grease the bearings. The outer bearing was no problem, but I just get grease squirting out around the fitting on the inner bearing. I think I'm not seating the coupler due to the tight clearance. I'm thinking I may need an angle adapter. Any suggestions?

some grease gun tips are too big diameter, contact prevents them from seating properly. If that's the case, clearance the side of the grease gun tip with a grinder.

I ground down or rounded the tip of mine as Chuck suggested (clean thoroughly when done). Slips right on.
