rear reflector
I have a 74 911. The rear reflector has about 1/2 of its attachment studs broken off.
Have seen a picture of a paint-able fiberglass piece at Getty Design, but the piece is not available. I need to fill the space with something, and all that I can find other than used parts are a couple of pieces from PP (and another) and they say turbo on them or are NLA. What have you come up with as ideas to fill in the "void"? Must be a thousand great ideas out there, so please share, what you have done to modify this area of your car?

get some short wood screws, some washers to attach your center reflector and then prime and paint your relector to match the body paint or go flat black. shouldnt matter much since the reflector is already compromised and youre talking about how to change from original. and do this for under 20.00 bucks. just use original holes and no body damage.
the other option is buy a used one from someone and keep it original...good luck either way. |

I replaced mine with a FG piece from one of the forum guys (widebody?). I just hit it with a rattle can for now.
I do have a reflector that has a slight crack in it that is for sale if you choose to go as mentioned above. I can post a pic of the rear panel I put on if you like.

Thanks Guys.
Mickey, please post a picture of your car. The body shop guy who is painting my car said he could epoxy on some new studs and thinks he can fix the existing panel, and if I want him to, he would sand it smooth, put several coats of epoxy primer on it and paint it. Thinks he can keep the embossing from telegraphing through. What do you think?

It can't hurt. Unless of course your reflector is in perfect condtion which would then allow you to sell it for about what you'd pay for a FG panel. I'd do it.
Here's mine from the back. I hope it helps with your decision. (I was never a big fan of having PORSHCE across the back so thats why I dumped it.) ![]() ![]()
