Adjusting De-celeration Valve
Hey CIS Guys.............
I finally have my CIS working great, but I need to still keep my idle from dropping down too low. I know the de-celeration valve manages this. Observing mine, I noted that there is a locking nut and adjustable screw where the top vacuum hose fits. Before tampering with this, does anyone know which way to turn the adjustment screw to keep the idle at a higher level in the "drop zone". How can I tell if I have a faulty decel valve as well? Its only 28 years old!!!!!!!!!!! Thanks Bob 73.5 T |
I am working from my knowledge of my '78 SC but I believe that turning the threaded post in (clockwise) causes the decel to come down faster: counterclockwise will cause the car to come to idle slower.
So you want to turn that post out, counterclockwise, to cause the car to slowly come to idle. Jw |
