Steering wheel spline

I bought a used Porsche steering wheel for my '82 930. The seller said it was a 930 wheel, and it looks like one, but the spline is too small to fit over the steering column.

Can the hub be replaced? The wheel is in very good shape, and its brown leather so it matches my interior nicely.

I have a Momo wheel now, but I'd like to put this OEM wheel on.

I am looking for a 944 wheel.

Edit, just noticed it's brown, don't need it.

Here's the wheel:

How do you tell a 944 wheel from a 930 wheel.

I bought a wheel that was thought to be for a 944 not knowing 944 wheels don't work on a 911. They sent it to me and I pulled the horn pad off and it was a 911.xxx.xxx.xx number. I lucked out and got a brand new NOS Carrera wheel for next to nothing. Part number should be under the horn pad.

If the hub will unbolt from the wheel you may be able to buy just the hub to make it work with the 911 for 135.00

Sorry didn't pay attention to what wheel you had in the pictures. Don't think it will allow a different hub.

If it doesn't fit the splines of the steering shaft, you can be certain it's not a 911 steering wheel. the shaft and splines didn't change between 1965 and 1989, and may even be the same for the 964 and 993.

I think 964, 944 & 968 are the same splines, just based on looking for 911 hubs.
