MSD 6a vs 6AL
I am replacing my stock CDI as it's fried. I will be purchasing the MSD unit. Is there any reason I should need the rev limiter found in the 6AL ? Is the 6A more user friendly ?
Thanks |

Yeah cuz its cool and not much more. User friendlier = NO. I went the A route and always wished I went the AL route.. the limiter is more precise and Id like the option to turn mine back a little bit to save on my engine cuz Im a lead foot fool. |
Go with the AL unless you plan to stock club race in which case you have to stick with the OEM rev limiting... Other than that I believe they are identical units.

Why not go for the 6AL-2, which has dial adjustable rev limiters, saves having to buy the bag of plug-in chips

No the new MSD unit that is a development of the 6AL
http://i91.photobucket.com/albums/k2...print/MSD1.jpg The rubber plugs on the top hide the setting dials for the rev limiter, a launch control limiter and the nr of cylinders (4,6 or 8) of your engine It means you can adjust your rev limit very easily |
