i've done several. the sheet metal work obviously is the main concern. once all the brake items have been removed from the donor car, also pull the gas tank. the sheet metal panel the booster sits on needs to be cut out and carefully fitted into the 75. behind the gas tank on the 79 is a protruding bulge that also needs to be removed. both pieces need to be removed as a unit. use a sawzall, and an air hacksaw. cut them larger than you need. include in the cut the low area where the brake lines dip down into the smuggler's hole.also include in the cut, part of the hole that the plastic heat valve mounts on. these two areas are used as line up markers so you can get the panel properly located. there's a lot of thinking, trimming and fitting involved before you are ready to weld the panel in. it has to be butt welded, not overlapped. trim it down as small as possible. a few spot welds need to be drilled out where the brake line channel meets the smuggler's hole to get a nice fit. the bulge piece in front of the pedals/behind the gas tank has to be seperated from the upper piece (after the piece is out of the donor car) by drilling out spot welds. it's actually a reinforcement piece, as well as for clearance for the pedal assembly. it's hard to describe the entire procedure. some people will do it a little differently. but once you start, you're committed, so plan it out and take your time.

Hello

Just look if you allready have the vacuumpipe, runing from the trunk down to the middle tunnel coming out at the end, in the 75.

If yes it is pretty straight forward you just have to drill the holes and cut the "window". Then swap over all different parts and done.

the reason i do all the sheetmetal work is because i like it to look stock, with the proper channel for the brake lines, and the depression under the booster. the inner reinforcement is also needed for a safe, flex free job. just cutting the holes really doesn't get it, and the bulge behind the gas tank is needed to install the later pedal assembly, and the reinforcement also goes behind that area.

Hello

Thanks John saved me work.

The reinforcment support can be ordered from Porsche. It is not in the picture cataloge but in the partslist. It belongs as a seperate part to the trunkfloor. The price is around 30 - 45 min workshoptime.

The other modifs can be shaped at the existing sheet metall.

Grüsse
