Burning oil smell coming from the Engine (1987 Carrera 911 coupe)

Hi,

I have a 1987 carrera 911 coupe. I wondered if anyone has faced these problems.
Any suggestion on the fixes are appreciated

Hello happyprogrammer:

1) You must have an oil leak that's burning oil on your heat exchangers, impossible to tell exactly where from that pic. Raise your car (always use jack stands) and take a better look.

2) That's for sound proofing, it get's twisted because of high temps. If it's coming apart or crumbling/disintegrating by touch then you might want to change it. If it's not I'd leave it alone, I'm not sure you can replace it without at least a partial engine drop.

3) Those are showing considerable wear, maybe it's time to upgrade to Magnecor's or Clewett's (amongst many available) cables.

Take care.
