Heater Blower Motor

Any good ideas on where to find a cheep heater blower motor for the rear 89 911. I don't want to buy a new factory one because of expense. I only use it a couple of times a year.

Thanks
Mike

Played around with this one quite a bit for my 87. No Luck - due to the odd-ball graphite bushings set up rebuilders would not attempt. Other posters made reference to a VW blower that would work but no one could come up with a part number or application. I gave up and bought one from Wayne, good service - about $20 buck less than the dealer - but even at $259 it seems a bit steep - especially when all you need is the motor and not the housing or fan.

Most likely your foot well blowers will go next - the news is better there, real oilite bushings. Disassemble, clean, re-oil and your good to go.

Take Care,
Bob

I bought a used one for $100. It's not cheap, but better than $250 for new. With limited use it'll probably last another 14 years.

Doesn't it also come on by itself to help cool the engine? I think it runs more often than when you turn the heat on. That's why it wears out (oh and the cheap bronze bushings don't help).

Chris.
