Braid Replica Fuchs?
 

I think they are made in Spain. They are not cheap, but, a fair bit cheaper than OEM Fuchs. Does anyone know how well they are made? I am asking specifically about the 15x9, however, if you have heard anything???

Are you still happy with yours. I see that there is a FIA cert. They look to be an excellent ( all be it "expensive") option.

I have bought a pair of 15x9's. I love them.

Still no confirmation as to if they are forged or not.....

Are you worried about strength? If so, they are made to race on. TUV/ FIA approved. Pretty darn light too.

Not doubting the race applicability, just that the manufacturers seem to be dodging the question. Forged wheels seem to hold up better than cast ones.

Race oriented wheels tend to be repalced or retired earlier than street wheels.

They are not gravity cast. I trust them more than I would 30 year old Fuchs. Time will tell.

This the email they sent me. It is a little ambiguous. However, it is a reply;



The wheels BZ for Porsche are a special manufacture made by BRAID and it is Semi-Forged.
The process of making this wheels are exclusively from BRAID and we would like to keep it that way.

Up until now the wheels functions perfectly and we are confident you will enjoy your new wheels.

I emailed them again to say that I have not received a satifactory answer. I gave them a link to this posting.

Give the guy a break, he's writing in a 2nd language.

IF they have developed a clever production technique, I can also understand why they are cagy about it to protect their IP.

I agree that it could be a language problem. I have no intention of being judge- mental. I have a set of their wheels that I love. But I am curious as to how they are made...for an indication of wheel strength. I have emailed a few times with no response.

I have noted something else of interest. The 15x9 Fuchs replica that they make is a -3 offset. I believe that the original RSR offset was +3.

I am very happy with my wheels. I want to know how strong they are. I would hope that they would be stronger than 30+ year old Fuchs, but I do not know, and it would possibly depend on wheel usage.

further we are now selling the original FUchs wheels -forged made in Germany in 19 in...no reproduction like Porsche is selling cast wheels made in Italy....

What would you charge for a set of 15x9's?

Prices are at $796.00 per wheel... we can send it to an US address if you know someone across the border, or directly to you into Canada.

I believe when they 'semi forged' is that the centre and inner half is made from one forging and common to all wheels with a different width outer rim welded on.

What are you using for Tires on a 15x9?

so far most of my customer used the wider rims and than had to go with the Michelin series.
