1988 911 Toolkit
I'm looking to buy this old toolkit for my 1988 911 Carrera. It is marketed as being from a 1986-87 911. Can anyone confirm? Does the "cloth" rollup look period-correct?

No. The basketweave was only used in 67-68. From 69-on they changed it to a basic textured vinyl.
This may have come out of an '86 trunk, but it wasn't put there originally. |

The one you are looking at is worth significantly more than the one for a Carrera. Screwdriver handle doesn't look correct, but if the rest of the tools are correct you may be looking at a tool kit your can resell from between $200-$500!

Definately not an 87 as mentioned above, but if you are looking for a very clean, complete kit I had the opportunity to buy one the other day. PM me for e-mail address if interested.

That kit is from an SC at the latest and probably as far back as 74. The tow hook is that era.

Flatsixjunky, I now know exactly what I'm looking for with your photo. Thanks for everyone's input. It wouldn't be possible to get this kind of info w/o this board.
BTW, I've bought the old basketweave kit because it is so cool but will continue to look for a period correct kit. |
