Fuel Quality Switch Question
My 88, 3.2 Targa has a 93 octane Steve Wong chip and I've been having trouble with spark knock.
Yesterday I decided to adjust the FQS to retard the timing and see if that would help and it made a huge difference, the position I chose was #4 which retards the timing 2.79deg and makes no adjustment to the fuel. The question is what advantage is there in selecting a setting that adjusts the fuel either 3% or 6+% or reduces the fuel by 3% and how do I know if I need to do that? I did notice a slight exhaust pop when changing gears, all else seems to be OK. Also, I do have a Fabspeed euro premuff and M&K single out muffler

I believe if you drop Steve a line he would be able to answer your questions for you and give you some solid advice.

+1 I had this discussion with Steve and he was very helpful. My experience with Steve is that his customerservice is top notch. If you haven't done so already, read through his site before contacting him. He shares a lot of good information, which will help you ask the right questions. /Johan
