Yet another wheel thread, sorry. . .
Yes, I've done the searches. Yes, I've talked to local parts people. So, here's the situation: I have an '83 SC that I drove off the lot in June of '83. It has 124K on the clock. Came with the 6 & 7 X 16 package. After all this time, I've decided to upgrade the wheels/tires and do other things that will take it away from original. (New 8X16 Fuchs are apparently made of an alloy of unaffordium and unobtanium, so they are right out of the equation.)
So, to the question: How are the Linea Corse wheels holding up in the real world? My car has never been on a track (I have a dedicated car for that) and probably never will, as long as I own it, so those stresses are not in play. Not interested in DBTT analysis, so if you own them: "How they doing?" Thanks in advance.

Actually, I don't think the new Fuchs contain much unobtainium, but certainly have their share of unaffordium.
With regards to your question, from what I've read here, they have their detractors, mainly based on principle. I have not heard of any failures, and you just KNOW if it was a problem, you'd hear about it here. For the record, I don't have a set, but for street use, I wouldn't be terribly concerned about structural integrity. To my knowledge none have complained about cosmetic issues, either. Is this a case of no news is good news? Probably. People tend to comment only if there are problems.

I like mine. 1500 miles so far (nothing compared to some of the sets out there), very few weights, no balance issues. They were NLA for a while, between production runs, so you might want to call and verify before you get too into the idea.
I'm running 215/45 front and 245/40 rear, so I'm a bit narrower than normal. After seeing the fitment, I wish I had just trusted the board and gotten the 225/255 set because there is PLENTY of room. The rear tires really make the car look nice, like a cartoon bulldog character...all shoulders.

They have sold thousands of the wheels now. No reported failures.

Thanks Mike. I'm leaning more towards this avenue because a 20+ year old wheel will by necessity have issues. Since I'm not going to stress 'em, I really think this is the way to go. Besides, I test drove a new one (911) on Monday, and I just rebel at paying that much money for anything that doesn't have a front door and a zip code. . .

Original Fuchs has by far the best looks on an SC / 3.2 in my view.
You can get the 7J-16 rims to fill the wheel space much like the 8J's by adding a 1/2 inch spacer...

Thanks. I've got the 1 inch hub-centric spaces I used to increase rear track on my race car, but I'd really not like to use them. First option was to source 8X16's. Shopped locally, looked on evil bay, Craigslist, etc. . . Called a couple of P-car dealers ($1394.96 per, hence the unaffodium/unobtainium comment) then Wheel Enhancement (Hah!). So, alternatives. . . Thanks for all the responses!
