Fuchs back in the biz...

Not sure whether this has already ben posted, but there were a couple of reports in the German motoring press this past week that Fuchs (Firma Otto Fuchs of Meinzerhagen) is getting back into the wheel business.

The plan is to produce (among other things) the old Porsche OME wheels, as well as a new take on the old wheels for the newer water-cooled cars.

No news yet as to when these will be available.

Porsche Classic has been showing new editions of the 6, 7, 8, and 9 x 15" Fuchs for some time now, as well as the 7, 8, and 9x16" versions. They are not cheap, however.

I thought Fuchs never left the wheel business. They just stopped making the old style wheels for Porsche as they, meaning Porsche, didn't want to make them anymore and they own the rights to the pattern or dies. Fuchs have continued tomake wheels for Porsche and other makes. They just stopped making those styles-until now. Or at least that's what I thought.

You are quite right. My bad.

The press report was that they would begin to make the old style Porsche Fuchs wheels again—plus a new series (that looks similar) for the newer p-cars.

to be honest it would make sense. They have already done the new wheels for the limited run sport classic. I thought they looked great

I thought the new wheels for the Sports Classic were cast not forged...
Either way it's only a mater of time before someone puts them on an air cooled car.
