Before Pic:

Needle Punch carpet is NLA everywhere, so I chatted at length with Tony and got the closest match, a English Woolton. I also took a chance on carpet color, and went with cinnamon instead of the tan he had. Cork was not a option so it was lighter, or darker. I chose darker. Pics to come on that front, my only stray from "original"

Lucky enough to have a great shop local, called autoweave that tackled the leather dash. They do Concours quality work, and had a Parade worthy 356 in the shop next to mine.

looks great ! Even the before pics looked great "NICE CAR"

just a thought but before the glass guys get there i would take a plastic scraper and carefully remove the old hardened up goop from around the sealing area. if you tape off the paint and use plastic it wont hurt the paint and then there will be a better chance of no leaks, i happen to be speaking from experience on the leak thing. after a cleaning it has not leaked in years.

cheers ed

Before dash pics, it was hammered. Also you can see how faded the window and all other trim was, it should be black some places were more greyish.

agreed on the window channel, not much but will scrape out before new seal goes in

Question for you Ed, what color are your door sill plates?

I owned coupe #171 and they were black, but I've seen other later # coupes with Silver.

Seems they were both ways in 75.

they are black.

i have seen both as well and im not sure theres a rhyme or reason for the application of natural or black?

i thought that maybe the tans had silver as i have seen another cork colored interior with a silver in the past. but thats only one car ?

Maybe some other 75 owners will chime in.

Both of my 75's were identical colors, Chocolate Brown over Cork, One had silver one had black thresholds.

Brings up a point about side mirrors, black vs body color. Seen them both ways as well. Both my 75's have been black.

Mine has black outer sill covers, the inner ones that retain/trim the carpet are silver (aluminum). I also have some pics from an ebay car that is the same as mine. Both are light yellow coupes.

The full leather was a Carrera 'thing'.

The original plan was to annodize, I have a close friend in the metal business, once I took everything to him we decided to powdercoat. He's a master and did it super thin and color is not flat like you would expect. I'm really happy with how it turned out.

The main reason we didn't annodize was because of the the metal brackets and rivets that hold the main door window frame together, I took all the allen joints apart, but there are 2 that are rivited together, steel can't go into the tank, they would have to drill out the riviets. Those rivets are small and inside the channel and he had nothing that would reassemble it.

very nice!

The windshield trim on the carrera was powder coated but it doesnt look like anodizing its a very flat look, "looks like powder coating" i like the look of yours. I may take a few old pieces i have around and let the local guy practic a bit and see what he can do.

Big thanks to Lars aka Speedo for putting me in touch with the "right" window guy. Today both the front and rear windscreens are installed Watching these two guys struggle, I'm glad I didn't attempt it myself, front glass took 3 tries.

It fit perfect and the trim was not poping out, but it fought them tooth and nail, cold temps 40ish in my garage prolly did not help. Also the dash corners were pretty close to the metal ridge for the seal, but it was finally accomplished.

Now I'm just waiting on the carpet and seats ect to get delivered. I've got a new turn signal switch and heater tubes to install while I wait.

Mike, it's looking great! The powdercoated trim looks nice, and the dash is fantastic. I knew Autoweave was good but that thing looks like a factory piece.

I'm in the same place as you right now - putting in the carpet is the next step on my project. I have the carpet kit already and some of the pieces look like they're going to be a bit of a challenge.
