lift points?

I have a 1977 911S and will be replacing the stock tie rods and ball joints. What is the recommended jack stand placement for performing this procedure. Thanks in advance for all responses.

You can jack the entire front off the ground by placing your hydraulic floor jack under one of the the front torsion bar cover caps. Then place your stands on the chassis with a piece of wood or hard rubber right behind the wheel wells taking care not to crush any hoses or oil lines.

I'd be curious to see what others say but I always jack using the factory jack receiver and place stands under the forward front torsion bar mounts. These are very strong and hold the weight of the front of the car quite well. You have plenty of room to get at the tie rods etc. I also leave the floor jack in place for added protection and slide the wheels under the car.
