I don't think its broken but I am going to replace it anyway. As far as a pedal stop this is a 79 SC the floor board does not have one it is on the back of the pedal. If I replace the cushion and still am out of luck where to next?

Ok got it replaced. Improved to probably about 75-80% of full throttle, but the plot thickens. I have blue smurf juice leaking out of the rear of the tranny, probably the seal around the input shaft. Lucky me!!!!!

sounds like Smurfco 201. Either that, or you better keep Smurfette out of the back seat.
