Parasitic draw and the interior light....

Battery (new) was dying sometimes after sitting for less than a day. Getting a parasitic draw of about .51A.
Tapped on and removed each relay with no change. Finally removed the interior lights fuse and the draw dropped to 11.7mA which seems to be within spec. Question is (I'm going to be SOOO embarrassed), on a cabriolet, is there another interior light besides the one just over the glove compartment? The owner's manual shows another light but doesn't say where it is. Also, does this .01A normal parasitic draw seem okay to everyone else?

Looked for a smiley with a dunce cap, but couldn't find one.

Check your door plungers for correct function. I don't know about cabs but is there a footwell light(s)? I can't believe there would be only one light for entire interior.

Yes, .01ma is right on for parasitic draw. The radio memory and clock use this much.

Targa's and cab's (I believe) have a cabin light similar to the one in the glove box above the rear view mirror - it may be hidden by the sun visors. It is 3 position, on, off, and on-with open-door.

Mine got loose, and I can see how the wire could fray and short.

Did the draw change with the door being opened/closed?

(don't feel bad - I'm looking for a fuse puller right now myself - for the power seats)

Hey, found it! The PO must have painted over it with some type of interior dye. It's right in between the visors. Took it out and the switch was completely broken and corroded (probably laying up against the inside of the windshield frame). Thanks!

And by .01 you mean amps right? On the mA setting I'm getting about 11.4 - 9.8

I'm not a multimeter pro.

.01A is 10 mA, so that's well within specs.

Congratulations. I would have suggested getting the factory wiring diagram, then follow the various electrical paths from the interior light fuse position to help isolate the offending circuit, but you did well.
