Question winter carpet install - safety questions

Hi everyone.....I've been studying the archives on this issue, but I'd like some fresh input.

I am planning to install my new domestic carpet set into my 70T next week, but have some safety concerns.

Concern #1 - Flammability: Being the middle of winter in northern Indiana, I need to warm up the old garage before/during my carpet install. Assuming I open a window in the garage for ventilation, how much of a danger would it be to use 3M adhesives (either aerosol or brush-on) in conjunction with a kerosene space heater within the same garage space?

Concern #2 - Respiration: Assuming I haven't died in an explosion already (see concern #1), would fume inhalation become a major concern. Again, I plan to have at least one garage window open, but even so should I be using a respirator?

Thanks in advance....

Matt

Keep the pet birds away. Ask me how I know this? Yes vent in some fresh air and be prepared for a slim buzz. I wouldn't worry too much about an explosion as long as you've got some air movement. It would take a lot of fumes to blow/burn. Definitely walk around every half hour or so in the fresh air. Dry fit stuff before you start so you have a good idea of any problem areas and a way to work through them.
