Do the right thing. Call the authorities. People don't just lose 911s. There is something wrong with this picture.
|
For months I used to drive by a parking lot across from a restaurant where an orange 911 was sitting. Not sure now what it was, I believe an S. Floors were completely rusted out, but that car just sat there.
I think I'm gonna check to see if it's still there, if it is, It's gonna get a trace..... |
Still unexplained.....how did it wind up on this guy's private lot? Did you ask the guy with the caddy?
A late 80's cab with 33K miles is not the kind of car someone just forgets about. My dad always says "if something seems too good to be true....it probably is"! |
"Technically".....just looked it up in my books....the owner of the land can do a lien sale. He has to contact the DMV and start the action. He needs to have a sign posted saying no parking yada yada....and claim storage charges.
DMV will contact the registered and lien holder, if any and then it's the property owners car if no response....if they do respond, then the property owner is entitled to storage and filing fees. Technically a lien sale, is a filing of a lien like a bank or a mechanic for unpaid fees for services.... |
Parking lots are always funny places for cars. Every place I have worked has had a parking garage. It is amazing how many people "park" stuff there just for free. Heck I have seen people keep boats in the garage for the winter. A buddy of mine was into cars and he kept 3 cars parked at the company lot and rotated them around once a week, these were pretty nice too like a 280Z (with 350 power), a Buick Grand National, and a 1992 Corvette all sitting there getting dusty (his daily flogger was a Honda CRX). Even I have been known to store a car in the company lot from time to time (shhhh ;) ).
This sounds fishy and I agree that people just do not abandon a 911. Maybe there is a new lot jockey who knows nothing and the 911 belongs to the owner of the lot? * Loved that story DTW! * |
Kept making payments for 4 months, for LACK OF A BETTER IDEA.
What a buckethead. What's wrong with telling the truth in that instance? Embarrassing? Yes, but come on. What do you think his excuse was to people who asked what happened to his nice Mustache? I can't remember? |
