Help Win Vin Decode.
I am going to jersey on sunday to look at this 912 for sale. I was hoping someone could decode the vin# for me it is. 128 027 89
The car is said to be a 68` present color is red and has a 5spd.

"THE PORSCHE FAMILY TREE", as published by PCA, lists the 1968 912 Karmann (The contracted body manufacturer) Coupe as having Chassis numbers beginning with 12820001 and ending with 12805598. Engine numbers for that model begin with 108001 and end with 1080351. I know, the math doesn't add up, but that's what the book says. Targa engine numbers begin with 1085001 and end with 1086115. Perhaps a clue?
