Question braided coil wire

Hello All, When replacing 30 year old coil connectors. A duplex
wire which was almost nil, had to be cut back. My question. Can this
wire be spliced individually (2=1)? Or will I have to chase down these
wires at the source? Thanks roger

The wires only run between the coil, the CD box, and the distributor.
History shows that the white wires break down and ground off to the sheilding. I would make up a harness with all the grounds in one wire and wrap it off.

I've openned the wiring harness to the CDI box. The duplex wires (ground?) tie
off together at plug-in. Should the silver wires connect to the common ground or are
they destination sensitive? Thanks Roger
