Spend some money, buy some floors and necessary sheet metal and a mig welder, you can't mess it up any further than it already is.

Get onto the editor of 911&Porsche world in the UK and ask their advice. I wouldnīt try save it but maybe someone out there has a body looking for a motor & transmission etc. They could even do an article on "what can go wrong when we make the wrong choices". Sorry it didnīt turn out to be what you expected.

Thats a pretty neat project... just finish it for the right reasons. Tons of guys are upside down in their cars. As long as you enjoy the journey, who cares?
Fix it up, take your time... I know its blasphemy, but a nice twin turbo v8 in there would look and drive might impressive... Sell the motor for several grand, hotrod the heck out of it, and enjoy :). At the end of the day, you have a car that looks like a 959 (which is ungodly rare), and you didn't pay much... |
It doesn't look all that bad compared to some of the other heaps that have been saved by members of this forum, so dive in.
Each project is expression of the owners taste, none are perfect, its really all in how you "rock it". You want to rock a 959 replica? I say skip the end-game thinking (ie resale value) and get on with the journey. If your heart is in it, this could be the start of something special. If not though, and it sounds like you've already got some doubts, I would walk away. Hotrodding isn't for everyone, maybe the best route for you right now is to cut your losses and get into something better sorted. Just my $0.02 |
