Clifford Alarm ID and Disable

I have a 1985 Carrera with a Clifford Alarm I would like to disable. I have searched the archives and found some valuable infomation. The thing that has me confused is I have always thought this was a factory installation. But I think I understand that the factory never installed Clifford alarms? The other thing that has me confused is I don't have a key pad (normally located on the driver's door) anywhere that I would potentially use to disable the thing. I want to use the information from the archives (remove connector and jump pins 61 & 61) but I first want to make sure which system I have.

Can anyone clear this up for me?

I had this same problem. One of my car's previous owners installed a Clifford, but the manual and the remote which is used to program the unit were not included with the car when I purchased it. (There were two remotes for my alarm - the keychain remote and the programming remote)
The best way to figure out what system you have would be to simply find the alarm unit. Mine is located behind the kick panel that covers the heater blower motor in the passenger footwell. If you look under the dash for a big bundle of wires, you should be able to follow them and find the alarm.
When I saw how many wires were coming out of the alarm box, I gave up on the idea of removing it. I don't think I could successfully remove the alarm without screwing up the wiring, and I don't want to pay some kid at the stereo shop a few hundred bucks either.
Fortunately when I looked up the manual online I found that I could set the alarm so that it no longer arms automatically.
I hope this helps,

Hey guys,

Does it have a valet switch hidden under the dash? I have a Clifford Ace that has this feature. Ignition has to be turned on in order to use the valet switch.
