Starter Wiring Question- thin yellow wire-
I have a 72T
I have 2 yellow wires that go to the starter: one is thick (ignition) the other is thinner and I assume that this is cold start. The thick yellow ignition wire goes to the the 50 terminal on the starter solenoid with a spade connection. Does the thin yellow wire go to the 50 spade terminal on the 15 spade terminal on the starter? Thanks. |

I checked the pelican wiring diagram for the 71 model. Assumming 72 year is the same, the second wire was for an auxilary starting relay that powered the cold start injector and the time switch for the E and S MFI. Since you have a T it is not used. I would hook it up to pin 50 on the starter. It is the same circuit as the thick yellow wire. According to the wiring diagram, the thin wire connects to the thick wire in the connector at the rear of the car. So pin 50 from the ignition switch powers both. I hope this helps. When I get home tonight I'll look at my 72 wiring diagram(if I can find it) to make sure they are the same as the 71.
