Fuchs Question ???

I've come across a pair of chromed 10" Fuchs made up/re-banded for a 930 Turbo.
I have a '87 Carrera.
Anyone know :
1. if these rims will fit my car without rolling the fenders ?
2. Can a chromed Fuchs be de-chromed/re-claimed or does the chroming process negate a good restoration ?

Appreciate any thoughts on this.

doubt if they would fit, the 930 has much more fender than you have on your car

a 10 inch wheel will not fit a non turbo-bodied Carrera

I agree with the above, it's a no fit, even if you roll the fenders.
Chrome is also a nono, not good for the aluminium.

a 10" wheel on a standard body Carrera is sort of the unicorn of fuchs wheels. People of heard of it fitting but no one has seen it done in person.

It definitely could not be done without some massaging of the fender wheels - including but not limited to grinding down the torsion bar plate nuts, moving - tucking in the oil lines, etc.

Chroming weakens the metal - you can "dechrome" by blasting/stripping (which can also weaken) - but you are usually left with some deep pitting of the aluminum.

You can not blast off chrome. You have to reverse the chromeing process. I'm about to dechrome a set of Fuchs next week and here up north it costs me $500 for four rims 7" and 9".
