Update to my saga (A Miss (in heat))
I wanted to update the group on the (hopefully) final diagnosis on my problem detailed in the thread " A Miss(in Heat)" from a week or so ago.
The problem was a terrific miss/stumble in my 78 SC...only after getting up to warm/hot operating temps (usually 25 minutes on the interstate). I had replaced plugs, wires, dist cap and rotor, tried a new coil etc. Was ready to replace the CD box with a MSD 6AL. I finally took it by the local Porsche wrench and after several days and much frustration he finally found the culprit. Seems the fuel pump was losing pressure only in the above situation. Replaced I am now running strong again. He has worked on Porsche for more than 25 years and said he had never seen this particular issue with a Bosch fuel pump. He says they usually either work fine, do NOT work fine (consistently) or just whine louder and die! Anyway hopefully this will save someone down the line from the same problem. Thanks to all the folks on here...several were convinced it was fuel feed and my description of the problem was probably less than adequate.
