Rota Fox Wheels

I see the Rota Fox wheels are unavailable. Does anyone know when more will be available? Will they ever be available?

Rota is one of the cheapest made wheels. Wheel dude overcharges for them. I used to run a VW/Honda performance shop and the first wheel Rota released in the US was the slipstream. it was a knock off off the Spoon sw388. One of every 4 Rota's cracked and split. SOFT alloy and I could sell a set of 15's with kuhmo tires for around $500 bucks. I would NEVER put Rota's on anything other than a CRX.

What direct experience do you have about these particular replica wheels? The polisher of my wheels made the comment on how hard it was to sand and polish them due to their hardness. There have been more than enough sets running r tires and being thrashed at the track that if there was a problen we would have heard about by now.

I have done searches on Google and what I found out that Rota had a problem with the attack and offered free replacements on the affected run of wheels. Other than that there is not much out there other than the idiots who have run into something with them and there are plenty of story's about different manufacturers wheels about that. Rota also OEM's for many of the big auto company's around the world.

I have been running a set of RSR finish 17" for about 20,000 without issue. I think the rims are a little on the heavy side, but autocross, potholes, etc without issue. Bang for the buck and nice Fuchs look "aftermarket" rims. And WheelDude was very helpful with all my question up front and on a follow up to a shipping issue.

I had runout problems on 2 sets of new Rotas. The first set I had tires mounted and balanced and ended up with a shimmy. Swapped back to the 25 year old Fuchs and no shimmy. Stripped the tires and put the rims on the balancer and checked runout. I worked with Subydude and he replaced the set with another one. Before mounting tires, I checked runout on the 2nd set.

This is the runout I got on both sets. One was out by .045, another out by .005 which is very good. Another two at .010 and .015, which is acceptable. The others were .025 - .035. They are beautiful wheels and I wished I could run them, but the high runout was in the front wheels so the 2nd set was returned as well.

Just offering my experience with Rota. Just stating facts from a bunch of dissatisfied customers. Now of course they were used as street wheels where there are potholes and who know what in the street. As a FWD drag wheel they held up fine. Just not on the street. Didn't want to start a huge thing, again just reiterating what happened to my customers. Sorry if any offense was taken. That was not my intention.

Wasn't arguing with anyone. Just my experience with them as well. There have been issues with all the wheels we have discussed here on PP including cracked Fuchs. I have two set of the my original 15" Fuchs and would like to use them but... tires are an issue. I use lower profile Victoracers for the track but they look way too small for street and I have to be very careful on dips and driveways when I have them on. Would love to have an originals size ultra performance tire for the 15"s
