Fuchs upgrade
Bought a set of of 7 & 8 turbo fuchs for my 88 regular body 911. Car is not lowered and not using spacers. Thinking of getting 205/55/16 for front and 245/45/16 for rear.
What is the optimum tire size in this case? Can I use 225/50/16 for rear as well? Expert suggestions please....Steve |
205/55 and 245/45 fit pefectly on a narrow body.
.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1272163175.jpg The problem will be finding tires. 245/45 is becoming hard to find although Tire Rack does have some listed. 225/50 is more available and will work just as well on an 8 inch wheel. Do not mix brands if at all possible as the result MAY be handling/ride issues |

I use 205/55-16 front and 225/50-16 rear on my 16x7+8 Fuchs.

Fit perfectly... look great, and mine is lowered to Euro height. We didn't used to call SC's and Carreras "narrow bodies". Those were the up through 77 cars... |
Thanks guys for your input...

Do you by any chance know the ET values for these rims? Thanks in advance.

Sorry about that. |
225/50/16 is optimum on an 8" Fuchs. 245/45 can be used but it's better on a 9" wheel.

I think I'll go with 225/50/16. I checked with a few local tire stores and they have problem getting 245/45/16 as well.
Thank you all....Steve |

16x8 are ET 10.6 16x7 are ET 23.3 IIRC |

I just happen to be old enough to remember when the 930's were new (and SC's and the older Carreras). And there were still a fair number of long hoods driving around as daily drivers. Sorry, WAY off thread topic. |
