Anti-lock brakes -- earliest availability?

I'm looking to purchase my first 911, and due to frequent wet road conditions in my area, I want one with anti-lock brakes. I realize that the 964 and later models include ABS as standard, but how about earlier models? What was the first year that ABS was an option?

They first became available on the 1989 Carrera 4.
