'78 SC Engine Carrier question
I've helped a number of times but I don't think I've ever pulled the Engine Mount bolts out of anything but an early car. On early cars there is a washer and nut on the bottom of the Mount below the Engine Carrier Cross member.
I was helping a friend put the engine back in a '78 SC on Saturday and was surprised to find that not only were the bolts too short for a nut, but it appeared that the carrier is THREADED and doesn't require a nut ??? That's nice, those nuts can be a beeyatch ! I'm going to look up in the PET/parts info stuff I have, just thought I'd ask here first. Thanks...

My 78 isn't like that (Euro not US). There is a nut at the end of the bolts and no threading in the cross member holes.
Maybe the US 78s were different...

Yes, US SC's have a threaded crossmember for the M12 mounting bolts.
Use Antiseize and torque to 58 ft-lbs. Bentley 101-12
