Sounds like a problem Norm. Mine has 6. I believe they are 8mm x 50mm. I'd get property grade 10.9s to.

Well my 77 has 6 holes and 6 bolts. I am going to go out on a limb here and say you are missing 2 bolts. Are there only 4 on both sides?

They are only $2-$3 but I would want to find out how you lost them too.

6 is right, torque is critical. If I remember, the 4 bolt CV's torque to 60ft/lbs and the 6 bolt to 40 ft./lbs. I'd check that out if I were you, the list of things I've forgotten now far outweighs the things I remember (I also realize that's not all bad...).
I finally figured out that it's nice to torque those things (inner ones) with a long extension rather than crawling under the car.

Hey Norm, did you forget your topic title?

All CV-joint bolts are DIN grade 12.9!!! The M8 bolts get 30 lb-ft (42 Nm) and the M10 get 60 lb-ft.

Ok! I guess I should preface all of my posts with the fact that this is my first 911 and I dont have any history on my car including miles that I have put on it. Sooooo!...if a lot of my questions seem boneheaded it is because I simply dont know and I dont have a Bentley book yet, so I rely on you guys... thanks for putting up with me.
