What's wrong with this picture?

POLL: What's wrong with this picture?
http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1272312350.jpg
1) The woman is getting way too upset over nothing.
2) He's using the wrong brand of oil.
3) Working with the TV on is a major mistake. It's distracting!
4) All of the above.

No Turbo

RonDent 04-26-2010 01:12 PM

He's using a claw hammer to work on his car.

cgarr 04-26-2010 01:24 PM

He's married

Hoffmanmotors 04-26-2010 01:25 PM

No beer in sight...

Um, that's his mom in the comic.

So much for the "poll". Besides, isn't that someone's interpretation of a VW motor?

Maybe she's a cougar!!

dshepp806 04-26-2010 02:12 PM

No weed....

Doyle

The claw hammer is for the woman, not the engine. See how it leans on the couch? Ready to use in a moments notice.

gshase 04-26-2010 02:45 PM

She does not appreciate a good Chuck Norris movie.

It's sitting right there on the arm of the couch!

It's on the window sill!

G50 04-26-2010 04:45 PM

I think what's wrong is he's installed a piston on the outside of the engine.

kidrock 04-26-2010 04:47 PM

judging from the oil can on the floor, I'd say he's not using Brad Penn.

DaddyGlenn 04-26-2010 05:10 PM

I clearly remember that day from my youth. So I can say without a doubt that what is wrong with the picture is...

- our TV wasn't that big :(
- it was a VW engine but with a big bore kit and a hot cam and a single Weber (which is missing in the pic)
- I did put a drop cloth on the floor so the carpet was protected, sorta
- the oil was Castrol 20w-50 ;)
- and I am still waiting for the royalties from this strip! :D

Hodgey 04-26-2010 05:15 PM

There are several things wrong.....
1 The lady (it may not be his wife) has her clothes on....
2 There looks to be 2 rather gay looking guys on the TV
3 He has actually broken his train of thought to entertain the Lady

Les Paul 04-26-2010 05:56 PM

The cartoon is Zits. For anyone that has raised a guy through the teen years the best tune there is. That is his mom and he's had and vw van forever

Lack of Beer.

What's wrong with having an engine in the living room? I had a nice 800HP chevy in mine for a while while building it (clean of course) when I had an apartment. Wife helped me carry the parts up to the apartment.

Right now I have a crank, p&c, cams, rockers, and some misc. bits in the living room from my 68 911S. Even had the P&C on a tv tray while I was examining and measuring them. Heck, I chem-dipped them in the living room to clean them! Too cold in the garage.

I was once given a small bit of advice from an old Porsche friend... "Never rebuild your engine in the living room unless you want to get a divorce." So far I have not needed this advice...
