Need Help taking apart '78SC Sport Seats
Well, the good news is: I've got a good bit of the leather un-hooked and off of the bottom of the driver's seat. Found $1.70 and a Claiborne button.
![]() My question is how to get the hinge points off/dis-connected ??? I don't want to force anything and break it. One side looks like a BIG flat head screw, the other is the turn knob for the recline feature. I've taken the actual knob portion off, that was no problem... What do I do next?? On another note: where can you buy replacement foam??? (pic of the complete passenger seat) ![]() ![]() ![]()

Thanks ! That link in the first line or two is what I was looking for !
Still interested in finding Sport Seat replacement foam. The only stuff I saw was for non-sport seats... |

Ha! I remember that big spring washer on the recliner... Good luck with that, it can be kind of a bear to get it off undamaged if you want to re-use it.
I bought a used driver's side outside lower bolster for SC sport seats from DC Auto (mine had collapsed), but couldn't find it when taking the seats to my upholstery guy - who just made up replacement bolsters as necessary. Found it again recently. PM if you want it.

Thanks spuggy. I'd like to put new foam in there if possible...
I did get the whole seat apart this morning, thanks to a squirt or two of PB Blaster last night. Didn't need to take the recline mechanism apart. Everything is off, down to a metal skeleton, only thing I didn't take apart yet is the leather off the seat cushion and seat back cushion. The foam is broken down pretty bad, needs replaced. Leather had some wear holes and a couple of small tears. Where do the upholstery shops get their foam... Off to Google I go...
