what now?

Finally turned over the engine today after months of labor (3.6 into an 82 sc) and oil FLOWED all over!! The oil pressure sending unit was leaking badly, both bolts were loose. One of them would'nt tighten down, pulled it and found threads wrapped around the bolt. What now? Do you think it has a failed insert? Should I tap it out?

not a failed insert but stripped aluminum. a helicoil or timesert would do the trick. mickey mouse way would be to clean out the hole, and JB weld a stud into it.

Helicoil or similar insert. Don't even think about JB Weld.

Looks like the bolt you used may be too short.
