Window lube worked better than I expected.
Not that this should come as a news flash to anyone but the results were so much better than I expected, I just needed to share.
I had my door panels off my 84 Targa yesterday to replace the door speakers and put on sound deadening material. I figured while I had the panels off I would lubricate the window regulators and the door latching hardware. Well I didn't think my windows were that slow before I lubed them but they are easily twice as fast as they were before. I can imagine that is how they would have worked if you were driving the car home from the dealership in 1984. I used a white lithium spray, that I have used for that same application for years. So if your windows are slower than you remember or you just happen to have your door panels off, give your regulators a shot or two, it might save you a burnt out power window motor. |
Sounds like a good idea for a rainy day in the garage...
My driver's side window is 1/2 the speed going up as that of the passenger side ! Come to think of it,new weekend project ... lol Cheers ! Phil |
I let my windows race each other...either direction, they're dead on a match,....so far.
No doubt, Lube everything behind that panel...... ..man...THAT kinda' improvement is impressive. Best, Doyle |
