Has anyone here invested in a Porsche factory Kardex? I've been thinking about getting one for my 911, but I want to know if they're worth it. Are they just a certificate of authenticity, or do you get more in the package?

They've evolved over the years, they used to be free, now they have fancied-up the deal with a certificate that looks like a diploma.. You get original color, options, etc. It's probably worth doing.

Spend your $30 elsewhere. I did it and was dissapointed since I already had all the information provided in the original owners manual. Suitable for hanging, if you like hanging mundane 8 1/2 by 11 sheets of paper on your walls.

I agree with '89.
Its a lot of money for a piece of paper with very little info on it. Unless your car has been really modified (paint color change, or interior swapped out), it doesn't tell you anything you can't tell by just looking at the car. |

What *was* the Factory Kardex, and what you now get (for $30) from PCNA are totally different things. They call it a "Certificate of Authenticity" or some such crap, and when I got mine, I thought...what a waste of money.
Having said that...if you are putting your car in the PCA Preservation class concours, they give you points for having it. ------------------ '81 SC Coupe (aka: "Blue Bomber") Canada West Region PCA The Blue Bomber's Website |
