Red face Any help with a '71 Seized Clutch?

Before I start using penetrating lubricants near my clutch, I'm wondering if anyone has seen (and successfully fixed) a seized clutch in the 901 transmission ('71 911e)?
It was sitting for about 2 years in Vermont before I started it, but I can't get the clutch to disengage. There's some rusty accumulation present, and I am hesitant to muscle through it without consulting you folks first.

Any help would be appreciated.

Regards,
charlie

Can you put it in gear when it is off?

I had the same thing with my 912 after it sat in a barn for years. I jacked it up, just so the wheels were off the ground, started the car in gear, and dropped the jack. Broke the clutch loose

edit: be sure two people are doing this

Been there before. If the car runs, get it in 2nd gear and drive around the block a few times. It should break loose. A little safer than the jack drop but not as exciting.

a variation of the above post... get it warm so it starts well, clear the way in front of you for 100 ft or so, shut it off, put it in 2nd, clutch pedal to the floor and keep it there, start car and as it gets rolling, go on and off the throttle a few times until it breaks loose.

I can get it in gear with the engine off, so I'll give your suggestions a shot this afternoon. Will let you know results.

Thanks for the quick reply.

I have used the same procedure on my car as well.
