Downtown or in the burbs?
I use Euroquipe, St. Charles, but there are a number around the Chicagoland area, I don't have personal experience but there is Eurosport, Perfect Power, Fischer, I'm sure some of the other local guys will know of others. |

If you're in the city, a number of us have been happy with Doug Hillman at VFC in Ravenswood. The work he did rebuilding and regearing my 915 trans was flawless.

+1. If I can't do the work my self, Then I will only trust Doug @ VFC engineering or Emo @ Midwest performance Cars on Lake Street.

Yeah, just make sure the guy's at EuroSport are not preparing any cars for a race because then your car will sit for a 6 weeks like mine did.

Typically, I have done my own maintenance work (1986 911) but recently took mine to Perfect Power and was very happy with my experience with Sol. His facility in Buffalo Grove is large, clean, and meticulously maintained. That is always a good sign of someone that takes pride in the work they do by having a clean environment to work on the cars. If that is not too far for you, it's worth the trip if you are in the city.
