Question on the under-cowl fuel evaporative cannister on a 72
How is the cannister held in place? Is there a rubber strap used to hold it in? I looked at PET, which shows the cannister, pn 902.201.062.22, but no securing piece.

If you are referring to the little box near the instruments, it is held in place with a "rubber band" p/n 901-201-618-02. If mine broke, I would get an O-ring of the correct size to replace.

Harry nailed it...here's a diagram of the whole system: I believe this is the 1970 version...but no real differences in '72.

If you're talking about the canister near the battery, then YES it does have a rubber strap about 3/4" wide that holds it to a bracket.

Yes, I'm referring to the box by the instruments. Thanks for the info, Harry. The charcoal cannister by the battery is still strapped in place, so I'm okay there.
