Early 911 muffler on Ebay
I saw this muffler on Ebay... I have early style heat exchangers and I am looking to buy a muffler for my 3.0. Are mufflers really all that important? From the posts here, it seems that the heat exchangers provide the performace improvements, not so much the muffler. I dont have to have a "pretty" muffler or a "throaty" one either. What is the best bang for the buck when it comes to mufflers? Kemo 78SC

Well, that OEM banana-style muffler would certainly work, and be hard to beat for 'original' sound!

Just be careful about the condition. I have replaced my muffler due to excessive noise. As the baffles inside were shot. If you shook my muffler you could hear the inerds were loose. Email this guy and ask him to at least shake it and see. I would hate for you to pay for it, plus shipping and it be NO GOOD. These do come up every once in a while so don't jump if its not exactly what you want. Shawn

Buyer beware. Decades ago I bought a used "sports muffler" from a Pano ad...got thoroughly screwed out of $125. It was a pile of rust. I'm not saying this one is, I'm just saying buyer beware. Oh, it wasn't a total loss...it was a factory sport muffler, so it was opened up to see how the factory did it.
