Cool Custom rear emblem for my '77--opinions

Hey there,
Here's what's happening...
I've got a '77 911s all black/ tan interior w/ a full polyurethane whale tail, 9 inch flares, 993 cup wheels, and carrera valence 2.7. Custom for sure.
It's got a lid off of an SC, and the sc emblem on the rear w/ the 5 holes for it. I bought a carrera emblem from the dealer and it covers three of the five holes. Now I've got two holes I need to cover w/ a custom emblem of sorts...
I've seen the "RS" attachment added on and really like that! Can I buy that part without buying the carrera emblem that I've already got? What elso could I do to fill the space w/ an add on emblem of sorts?Advice, opinions, sources...
I'd love some feedback!
Thanks everyone,
Pete

I don't really like to see emblems that say a car is something it is not... you can have a metal (lead I think) plate welded to the inside of the lid, fill the holes, and paint it. If I owned your car I probably would not have any type of emblem. Just my .02.

Here's a pic of the car... It may be a bit custom for the likes of many, but who doesn't like to make their car perfect for them? I sure know that Jack and Thom among others do a fine job! I bought it like this and I love it... Carrera is a widely used term that has much meaning all the way back to the 356, so I want to use that. Maybe "carrera S" would be better for my car as its a '77 911S.
Keep em coming. I love comments and advice on where to get some add on factory emblems...
Best,
Pete

you got some extra holes, why stop with "Carrera"?

How about "Turbo Carrera?" That's even faster than a regular old Carrera.

Pete,

The 911S is a spirited and awesome car that gets alot of heat for no real reason. Yes, there are some issues with the 2.7 but once ironed out the CIS moves the car right along. Put the 2.7 on a diet, some sport suspension modifications, and a few other things here and there....look out!

The whale tail is a little much for a 77. What did you do to the front for balance? How does it handle at speed?

Respectfully,

When I had my Carrera 3.2 fully repainted it was tempting to finish the job with a fancy emblem at the rear. Could have looked nice with a silver 996 "Carrera" emblem. In the end though I chose the original black "Carrera" emblem and kept the car original.

However I do understand you since your car is already non-original. I don't know which emblem will fit in size to cover the holes, but a "Carrera" emblem is a bit cheating. Why not "911S 2.7" instead? Nice looking car btw.

Pete Nice car, I don't know what I would put on there, maybe just go with the 911S that would have come with it and cover the remaining holes?

I have a fish on the back of mine <>< , its by far not standard equipment but a great conversation piece.

Pete- sharp car!

Clinton- The tail is a Carrera tail- looks just right to me. Pete, since the car looks like a 85-86-87 Carrera, how about "Carrera" in black script?

Here's a pic of my carrera valence w/ rubber spoiler on front... It actually balances it quite well in my opinion. I want to go with the carrera emblem I have right now, but it won't fill up the holes completely... I'd love to go w/ the original 911S but guess I will have to wait because I'm not going to respray the lid. Eventually I may go for a 964 lid, but until then I may just stay. I'm not going w/ turbo carrera because that is just pure misrepresentation. I don't want people to think my car is something it's not, they already do w/ the SC emblem. My prob is extra holes and I'm looking for a cool personal touch!
I hope I'm not causing controversy... thanks for everyone's opinions.
Best,
Pete
