spark plug gap question

What are the effects of having a plug gap that is larger than the factory spec? Will it run leaner?

It won't make your car run richer or leaner. If your ignition system isn't up to the task, you will have misfires.

Aftermarket ignition systems that deliver a hotter spark, recommend wider gaps for a larger spark kernel. This is to take advantage of the higher voltage available from the aftermarket CD unit/coil.
