356 alignment in Eugene, Or.

I know...I know....911 forum. My friend needs to get his 356 aligned and not sure if he need his steering box adjusted too but does anyone know where he could take this to get some quality work done?
Thanks in advance.

You might have your friend make a call to Emory's in McMinnville. Nice people who know more about the 356 than almost anyone. If they can't do it, they would know who.

No doubt... I thought I'd ask here first before I bugged Gary. Thanks.

Front and rear camber, front and rear toe, front and rear ride height - the usual.

Matt-
Have him call The Sports Car Shop. They don't do alignments, but will send your friend in the right direction. They do lost of things there, including prep of vintage race cars, so will know what's what. I do my own, so don't have personal experience.

No front camber adjustment or caster on a 356. Any changes require a machine shop that's familiar with the modification.

Walt & Jerry's is where I've taken my 911 - they do a lot of Porsches but have not seen a 356 there.

Please post what you find out from the Sports Car Shop.

BTW - if you or your 356 friend are in town & want to have a beer or something, let me know.

Thanks guys...Story goes the guy had some front end work (king & link??) new bushings....blah blah. $1300 later it feels like it's harder to turn the wheel. I guess there is a break in period but the guy that did the work aligned everything and checked the steering box and everything is perfect. I guess he's suppose to drive it for 500-1000 miles and everything should loosen up a bit. My friend didn't know that the guy already aligned it before he asked me about where to take it. Anything sound fishy here?

BTW - there is a shop in west Eugene that your friend should DEFINITELY AVOID.

The Sports Car Shop has a good reputation, and I think there is a guy there who knows 356s.

Is your friend in Eugene? There are some other shops out there south of Eugene if you are needing something closer. I'll contact some of my 356 friends and see where they go.

Front camber is adjusted with the link pin shims.
