my new warning lights
 

After seeing an engine cook itself at the track after throwing fan belt, I decided that if I intend to keep on participating in DE events I’d better install a better warning light system. As we all know, it’s almost impossible to see the factory oil and alternator lights, especially with a 350mm steering wheel and also while focusing on the track at 100+ mph. There are solutions already out there like the big red light but I wanted a more factory look. I also wanted two separate lights to discriminate between an oil pressure problem and an alternator problem/thrown belt. So here’s what I came up with!…..

Using the clock's Plexiglas face, I used a dremel to cut out the holes and spray it black. If I were to do this project over again, I probably use another piece because of the noticeable hole in the center.

The last pic shows the lights on but does not do them justice. They are pretty bright!

Very nice.
I will do something similar, but using smaller lights in between the gauges near the top....if that makes sense.
I post some pics when I am complete.
Will have gen/fan belt, low oil pressure and low fuel level warning lights installed.
