Could there be an easier car to clean? Wow...

I have owned many Japanese and German cars, and have to say that my 911 is the easiest car of all to clean (inside and out). Late model BMW 3-series runs a close second.

On my '88 911 CS, there are no ridiculous trim pieces (a la Pontiac Sunfire side panels), no hidden vents, and a relatively small surface area. I can reach the entire roof from one side of the car. The rocker panels and doors are a cinch to access and clean--unlike the "messy" assortment of hinges and electronics on our VW Golf doors. The worst parts for me are the rear spoiler screen and the bumper "bellows".

I had been complaining about the unintuitive heater controls and poor labeling of controls, but the overall exterior and interior design more than makes up for it--especially from a detailing perspective. The car is actually a joy to clean, and it adds to the experience of owning a p-car.

It's hard to beat a late model Corvette for ease in cleaning and waxing, very slippery design.

Lance - regarding the bumper bellows - I wash them with the car wash soap/sponge or fuzzy rag, but then spray them with Stoners Vinyl spray. Stoner spray cans have a very directed, micro spray that minimizes over spray on the rest of the car. Works like a charm and looks good, too.

Will you come and wash mine? Word of advice.... don't use a pure silicone to dress up the trim if it ever rains while at work. You'll come out to a car that looks like Tammy Faye Baker after a crying bout.

Used this for a car show....great at the show, bad afterwards.....

You must never have had to clean the inside of the rear window of a Targa http://www.pelicanparts.com/ultimate/smile.gif
