Door Gasket Orientation?

Assembling my '71 911 coupe and my understanding is that the OEM rounded/ribbed door gaskets are NLA.

What I have as door gaskets is shown on the right.

The other two pictures show two different orientations of placing the gasket in the door channel.

Which is the right orientation: A or B??

Orientation A:

Orientation B:

Thanks for your feedback!

I am not sure....but I think you would have trouble shutting your door with orientation B....I am using factory rubber for my 87 which is rounded but I dont think it will fit with your doors. If you try contacting Sunset Porsche in Oregon they may be able to help you more...they are quite friendly.

I may be missing something, but the round gaskets (like on the left) are available through our host. The gasket on the right looks like the early gaskets that are NLA--at least I couldn't get them a few years ago for my 69, and it had original gaskets that looke like that. They fit in the door frame like you have in the first picture, with the "square" side wedged into the groove. Where did you get those seals? I'd prefer those over the hollow round ones.

Oh, so the gaskets are not right for my year. The gaskets came with the car.

Yes, I heard what I have is NLA. If Pelican has the correct type...perfect!

Anyone interested in what I have AND have the other type that I need and is new, I would be happy to trade. Otherwise PM and we'll work something out.
I have a set.

Thanks all!

Hi Stormaster,

What does your 70T door rubbers look like? I assume what I pulled from the car was original...but perhaps not.

The Pelican link posted is for the 74-89....will that fit for the 71? Is it "correct" style for this model year?

Do the door gaskets come as a closed loop or is it cut to length(slighty longer)?
Pelican doesn't show close-up shots and doesn't show a difference between sides so I suspect it is a length of gasket.

I suppose you start from the 90 degree corner and go counter-clockwise(driver side)?
