Cars and Coffee -- Chicago?

I see remnants on this forum of an organized get-together a few years back, but it's surprising to me that we don't have a much more regular gathering in a city this size with this many great cars.

Anyone here know the history? Can we get something started if it doesn't exist?

I blame Souk

We had a bunch of Cars and Coffee last year, haven't organized anything yet this year.

Once I get my cars up and running, I'll be game for some CC.

Yeah, it's a relatively sedate scene here. You can probably blame the long, bitter winter. Most guys have to put their cars in storage for a third of the year or more.

We're currently shooting for next week- Sat the 8th at the Starbucks in Warrenville. Still in the works so not cast in stone yet. Too many of us have our cars in pieces at the moment.

Send an email to the yahoogroup and Souk will let you in. Once you're a member of that group you'll get all the emails and the updates for CC.

Hope to see you Saturday.

BahhhhH! This Saturday should be a good C&C. I'm trying to get Charles Navarro to come up with some Brad Penn for everyone to flush their cars from the long winter sit.....including a few of my vehicles!

The weather looks like sunshine, but temps in the high 50's...good horsepower day.

If you city boys can find a place in the city where we can park for a couple of hours on Saturday morning, I'm sure a lot of the members would love to alternate locations....but like I said before, I thought you city boys liked the drive out to roads that won't swallow a VW Bug

Kevin---- you and the Inidana + Michigan boys are welcome to come over. As a matter of fact, we could probably set up a Fun Run when you guys come up. There are many great roads, but we could do a run up to Galena again for lunch.

See you all Saturday.

When you do this again, please post in this thread as my car should be ready in a few weeks. I would love to get the hell out of the city for a fun run as it's no fun at all driving my 72 here.

The nice thing with this gathering is the diversity of all the cars. I love it.

It was a nice turnout this morning...cold and windy, but there were lots of smiling faces. It was great to see y'all, expecially the new guys.

And a little tech action with plenty of Government supervisors!

I don't bundle up like that in the winter and it's May! It is chilly in the bay area today, 67 degrees.

Someone mentioned it was warmer when we had our November C&C!!!
That pic of me working and everyone else watching reminds me of the last couple jobs I had! :-)
Great to see everyone, and nice that a few kids made the trip this time. They will have more fun when it warms up.

Looks like a nice turn-out ! Although living now in the Los Angeles area for the last 30 years, I was born and raised in the South Chicago suburbs...still a White Sox fan !

I remember back there in the 1960's and 1970's it was really exciting to see a 911 driving around once a month or so!

A nice group of cars you had on what looks like a chilly , overcast, windy day.

Of course, it only looks like about the number of 911s I see on a drive around town doing some errands in my area Hope you guys have a nice PCA Parade at St. Charles this year !
